Halloween is going to be a little different this year. With social distancing measures in place and lockdowns in some areas, trick or treating is not a great option. But don't worry, you can still celebrate Halloween at home! We'll be having our own little dairy-free Halloween party, and if the rules allow, we'll invite over one or two friends to join in the fun.
I'm imagining fun games that my kids will love, like pin the spider on the web, marshmallow ghosts on a string, mummy wrapping, a skeleton scavenger hunt and of course old favourites like apple bobbing.
For kids with allergies, celebrating at home means you can ensure all the treats on offer are allergy-friendly. This could actually make for a more relaxed and fun celebration! You can check all the ingredients labels in advance, and your child can just enjoy themselves. There's no dilemma about trick or treating and your kids not being allowed to eat the same treats as their friends. Hmm, I'm starting to think Halloween at home could be even MORE fun than going trick or treating!
Are you planning a dairy-free Halloween party? If so, I'm here to help, with my favourite dairy-free Halloween recipes from around the web. I have picked recipes that are free from all top 14 allergens, or can be adapted. Most can be made vegan too! These cute dairy free Halloween recipes are so fun and great for a party or just to make together with your children. Updated for 2020 with even more ideas!
